FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

DORENE FA’AMANU FIATOA
DORENE FA'AMANU FIATOAMrs. Dorene Fa'amanu Fiatoa passed away on May 9, 2021, Mother's Day at Pali Momi Hospital, with her husband of nearly 45 years, Dr. Lulumafuie Fiatoa, at her side. She was 66 years old, born October 4, 1954 in the village of Vaitogi, American Samoa. Her parents are the late Fa'amanu and Anita (Liu) Tunoa. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Fiatoa, sons Juval (Moana), Beauquis (Mamiko), Dax, daughter Tehani (Simmons) Manuma, and 6 grandchildren. She also has 5 brothers (Siitia, Albert, Veni, Tony, David) and 1 sister (Diana), living. Dorene and Dr. Fiatoa set up their very first clinic in Kuhio Park Homes in 1986. The bulk of their patients were welfare-assisted, Medicaid families. With a philosophy of treating their patients as a family, their little Ma & Pa clinic grew steadily. There was so much love and trust between them and their patient family. The sudden, unexpected death of Mrs. Fiatoa sent a painful shock throughout their families, biological and clinic. None could believe this beautiful, gracious, humble woman with the prettiest smile would be called home so soon. Dorene was the face of Dr. Fiatoa's office; her Polynesian smile brightened every patient's day, young and old. Surely, she was a woman to behold, with so much class, humility, and a heart of gold. The void she leaves in the hearts of her clinic, extended, and immediate family may never be filled. And the same is true of the broken heart of her eternal companion, Dr. Lu Fiatoa. Her services will be Friday, June 4 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Makakilo Stake Center; 92-900 Makakilo Drive. Family viewing at 8:00 a.m.; Public viewing at 9:30 a.m. Internment at 1:30 p.m. at Mililani Cemetery.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
