Richard E. Armsby
Richard E. Armsby, age 80, of Kaneohe, Oahu, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021. He was born and grew up in Washington, D.C. After graduating with Honors and Distinction from Wesleyan University, he worked as a science writer for the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C. In 1964 he enrolled as a graduate student at Penn State University and received his PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1968. After completing an internship at Fort Logan Mental Health Center, Denver, Colorado, he became the clinical psychologist for the Windward Oahu Community Mental Health Center in Kaneohe and worked there until his retirement in 2010, after 40 years of service to the State of Hawaii. A caring and compassionate person, he was admired and respected by staff and consumers alike and was affectionately known as "Dr. Rick". Dearly loved and greatly missed by family and friends, he is survived by Judy, his wife of 53 years, daughter Karen Crisler and 2 grand- daughters, Eden and Joy, and brother Robert and nephews.
