FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Wilfred Kahaleilikoa Kekauoha
Wilfred Kahaleilikoa Kekauoha90 years, of Papakolea, passed away at home with his ohana at his bedside on October 29, 2021. He was born in Honolulu to Joseph Molena K. and Mary Nahakuelua Kekauoha on November 9, 1930. Predeceased by brothers, Little Joe, Eddie, Keleo and Kolii Kekauoha; sisters Helen Kekauoha and Mary Hood Lopes. He was predeceased by his wife Brenda Lou K. Martin Kekauoha, son, Wilfred K. Kekauoha, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lokai Kekauoha. He is survived by daughter Puni Kekauoha; sons Hoku, Kahili (Kim) and Kawehi (Melodi) Kekauoha; Grandchildren: Ka`ipo (Lehua), Kalele (Angela), Mahealani, Uluwehi, Uilani, Kahuanani, Pomaika'i, Nahakuelua Kekauoha and Kaapuni (Jeremiah) Kama; Great- grandchildren: Rylee, Kawena, Kau'i and Kahawai Kekauoha, Journey and Makamae Kekauoha-Viena, Atreus Kekauoha-Lorenzana, Aliiula, Nalia and Ioane Kekauoha-Kama. Sister Alice Lei Mattos, sisters-in-law: Kalau Nuuhiwa, Kawe DeFreitas and Gaelic Steele, and many nieces and nephews.

Kahale was in the US Army serving 4 years in the Korean conflict. Following his discharge, he served in the US Army Reserve for eight years. He retired from Dole Pineapple Co. (Processing Dept.) after 43 years. He and his wife were members of the Hawaiian Electric Employees Glee Club. Following retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling around the world and being members of Alu Like's Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna o Papakolea.

He will long be remembered for his faith in God, his love and dedication to his family and God-given gift of music. Throughout his many years, he bought laughter, joy and treasured mele to many church and family gatherings. He loved to entertain. He was a faithful member of Hope Chapel Kaneohe, today known as Anchor Church. He led weekly bible study classes and was a member of Hope Chapel's Time-Setters.

Visitation and service will be held on Saturday, 12/4/21 Anchor Church, 45-815 Po`okela Street, Kaneohe 9am-2pm, Service 10:30am COVID: Face mask required, social/family distancing. Cremation to follow. Private interment 12/6/21 National Cemetery of the Pacific.
