FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Visitacion Miguel Momeyer
Visitacion "Vee" Miguel Momeyer of Kailua, Oahu, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2021, with her husband Ben, and daughter, Jana at her side. She was the third child of Pedro and Anacleta Miguel, born in Kahuku, Oahu on September 9, 1929. She was a dedicated educator, who after graduating Kahuku High School, earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State College. She then taught at a public elementary school on the Big Island, and later taught at Pearl Harbor Elementary School. She then earned her Master of Arts degree at Indiana University. Over her long career, she held positions at Kent State University, became a student counselor at Stanford University, and later returned to Hawaii and joined the staff at the East-West Center at the University of Hawaii. She was part of a delegation commissioned with improving relations between the Philippines and the University of Hawaii.

Beloved by many, she leaves a legacy of sunshine, laughter, and love. She is survived by husband, Benjamin Guillermo; daughter Lerisa Heroldt, nee Momeyer; grandchildren Kanoa Heroldt and Jasmine Glickstein; three great-grandsons, nieces, and nephews; four stepdaughters, Lani Momeyer, Lili Momeyer Kashing, Dion Glenn, Jana Dickens; a stepson Mark Guillermo; and fourteen step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.

Vee was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her first husband, Dr. Kenneth Wells Momeyer, Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at the Kailua Church of Christ, 400 Maluniu Ave, Kailua on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 am and the disposition of her remains will be at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Date to be announced later.
