Peter Li Dang of Honolulu lived a life of generosity to his extended family. Only child of father Oie Mon Dang and mother Charlotte Dang, of the Salt Lake area, Peter extended his family through his life-long friends and relationships. A graduate of Punahou and Oregon State, Peter's friends were friends for life. His work was also immensely important to him, including his many good years with Aloha Airlines. We lost Peter this summer during the pandemic, when the separation of friends and family limited how much we were able to visit with one another in person. Together we face our loss, wishing we had spent more time with Peter and struggle with the regret that Peter is no longer in our lives.
Peter involved himself in a myriad of ways: caring for his parents, collecting a vast video library, making mixed audio tapes and being the DJ at friends' get togethers, volunteering at Punahou Carnival, rooting for his favorite football teams, deep sea fishing with his best buddies, expert tour guide to all visiting friends, sharing sunrise photography from the tarmac at HNL, sticking to his flip-phone far past its date-of-expiration, knowing 7-11's best haute cuisine, sharing malasadas, karaoke nights, and just being there, always, for his friends.
We will gather this Sunday, December 12th, 2021, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. to share that love and remember the best times we had with Peter. If you would like to attend our memorial gathering please contact tom.jaggers@charter.net for more detailed information.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
