Rene' M. Garvin of Honolulu passed away 11/22/21.Rene' was born in San Diego to Clyde and Blanche Maples. Growing up in an Air Force family, she lived in many states and internationally throughout her life, but Hawaii was always home. Rene' was a proud graduate of Radford High School. She went on to graduate with a BA from UC Berkeley, and a MA in Clinical Psychology from John F Kennedy University.
Rene' worked in the field of counseling, specializing in substance abuse and teaching until she retired.
Rene' received many awards in regards to her work which included a Navy Achievement Medal as clinical preceptor, and also was recognized as an Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed hula lessons, loved Hawaiian music and was a contributing member on the Hawaii Kai neighborhood board for many years.
Rene' is survived by her daughter Elise "Lisa" Tagudan (Fred Tagudan), son Geoff Garvin, Sisters Terry Maples and Sherry Maples, Grandchildren Jarod and Jordyn Tagudan, Avery and Mia Garvin.
