FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Ann Gillespie Fowler
Ann Gillespie FowlerOn July 20, 2021 my dear mother Ann G. Fowler passed away unexpectedly in Aiea at age 94. She was a retired Federal Civil Service employee working various positions and locations in the U.S. and abroad.

Ann began her Earthly journey August 8, 1926 on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. Born Annie Boyd Gillespie Ferguson to her parents Mary Currie McDowall Ferguson and David Gillespie Ferguson. She met her future husband on a train in England where he was stationed during World War II. they were married in Scotland and again in Alabama so both families could share their joy.

Through the years it was a privilege to witness her as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom had a joyful demeanor with a quick wit and sometimes a wee Scottish jig too. I am missing her song in the shower, her fantastic problem solving, her excellent shopping skills, her piano playing by ear, her wearing her 808 Hawaii shirt to tell people that it was her date of birth, our many daily phone calls, and laughing so hard with her I could barely breathe.

Ann enjoyed the outings to Tripler to see her handsome Dr. Marshall. A special thank you should be given to all her "extended family" working at the various clinics and to Jen and the lovely ladies at the bank and the ever helpful Rocco.

My guiding light hasn't dimmed, it is shining even brighter from Heaven. Your family loves and misses you. We were a great team.
