(100) beloved mother, grand- mother, great-grandmother, auntie, and friend passed away peacefully at Maluhia on November 9, 2021. Born September 16, 1921 on Oahu, Kameko Nakata; married Shigeo Nakama in 1948 until his passing in 1966. Known as Grandma Nakama, Grandma Kay and Bachan Kay, her favorite pastime was karaoke. She dedicated 19 years as a volunteer for the Foster Grandparents Program. Her most treasured love the last five years of service was working with preschool children at Aina Haina School. Predeceased by daughter Carol Buxmann, survived by daughter Esther Root, sons Maurice and Glenn, (8) grand- children, and (7) great-grand- children. Private memorial service to be held.
