Akira Yoshida
84, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born on January 3, 1938, in Pepeekeo, he was the 5th out of 7 children (3 sisters and 3 brothers). He graduated from Hilo High School in 1956 and joined the United States Air Force in 1957. After his discharge, he married Marjorie Chinen in 1963. He worked for Sawai Brothers until opening Yoshida Wallpaper Co. in 1975. Akira was an avid golfer until his COPD worsened. Although heartbroken, we can smile because he is now with his wife who passed away in 2020 after 59 years together. Survived by sister Miyoko Yoshida; brothers Ronald (Kimberly) and George Yoshida; brother-in-law Richard Chung; sister-in-law Sumie Yoshida; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 11:00 a.m. Mask required.
