FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Lester Bung Gong Chock
Mr. Lester Bung Gong Chock, age 97, life-long resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on October 21, 2022. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Hinkle Chock with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in August 2022. After his time of service in the United States Army, Lester attended Syracuse University, receiving his degree in 1951. He subsequently embarked on a career as a certified public accountant. He loved golf and traveling all over the world with Barbara. They loved going together to Alabama football games and University of Hawaii softball games. Lester was an amazing, smart, kind, quiet, thoughtful man who loved his family and was so very generous in sharing his home and life with those near and far. He is proceeded in death by his parents, King Tan Chock and Noan Chung, his brother Richard Chock, and his brother-in-law Wally Hinkle. He is survived by his wife, his two sisters-in-law Joan Hinkle and Liz Chock, his nephews Scott (Robin) Hinkle and Glenn (Sandra) Hinkle, and his nieces Mivi Hinkle, Emma Hinkle and Sadie Graves, as well as many cousins.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau. His burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on Monday January 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital 1310 Punahou St, Honolulu, HI 96826 or to the Honolulu Elks Lodge 2933 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815 .
