Born to David and Julia (Estabrook) Silva, Carol lived most of her life happily in Honolulu. Father David had was born locally with immigrant parents from Portugal and served in the military. Mother Julie came to Hawaii via New York as a nurse and raised Carol and sister Heidi. She graduated from Punahou in 1961 (where she first met Cully Judd in Spanish class) attended Simmons University and later graduated from University of Arizona. After short adventures in New York City and on the Big Island, Carol returned to Honolulu and reunited with Cully on New Year's Eve of 1971. They soon began building Inter-Island Solar Supply which they worked tirelessly to grow into The Solaray Corp. and eventually sold to their employees in 2016 leaving a legacy contribution to a cleaner planet. Carol became a mother to Julie and the family soon moved into their Manoa home, bought their Pipeline beach house, and Meleana followed. She is a role-model of a mother, leading an amazing life and living with unconditional love for her daughters and four grandchildren.
She loved weeding her garden in the sun with a cold beer, worked out regularly, was a longtime member of Punahou glee club and loved hula as well as contributing to Carnival and Hanahauoli lei making efforts, she also participated in the Manoa Orchid Society, Honolulu Exchange Club, Central Union Church women's retreat and more recently enjoyed her prayer group. Through her battle with breast cancer, her faith brought her peace.
Survived by husband Cully (Lawrence McCully) Judd; daughters Julie and Meleana; grandchildren: Mason and Leila (Yani), Kenui and Stuardt (Judd-Cox) and sister Heidi (Lanstra) of New Mexico.
Services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023,
at the Punahou Chapel, Honolulu.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m.; Service: 3:00 p.m.
