Donna is survived by her husband Melvin Alvaro; daughter Mae (Richard Panui); son Devin Alvaro; grandchildren Luana, Kaipo, Hokulea Panui, Thorn, Isailah Alvaro; five sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
After retirement from her position as a purchaser for city and county of Honolulu and the state, Donna dedicated her hours serving at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Here, Donna shared her faith and love for God with her students of the community.
Donna's most cherished days were spent attending her grandchildren's many festivities. From hula performances, volleyball, baseball, and soccer games, and even pageants all the way in Las Vegas, she was there. Her grandchildren knew they could count on her being there, with her favorite adventure partner, Melvin, her tiny camera, and giant smile, capturing every moment.
Anyone who was blessed to find Donna in their life would describe her as selfless. Donna cared and gave with no limits. Her heart knew no boundaries when it came to the people she loved. Whether she was at church, having dinner with her family, or simply enjoying a coffee with her dear husband, her presence brought peace and comfort.
Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ewa Beach, on Thursday, January 12th, 2023. Visitation to begin at 9:30AM and mass at 11AM. Burial will take place at 1PM at Hawaii State Veteran Cemetery in Kaneohe.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
