FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Edwin (Ed) Herbert Berg
Edwin (Ed) Herbert BergBy God's sovereign and loving hand, our beloved Ed went home with Jesus on November 10, 2022 at the age of 88 at Queen's Medical Center. He was born and raised in Massachusetts and upon H.S. graduation joined the U.S. NAVY to serve during the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Patty, in Massachusetts and they moved to Hawaii in 1989. He worked for the Heat and Frost Insulators in Boston and then in Hawaii, overseeing jobs on the neighboring islands. Following retirement, Ed worked for Michel's restaurant and the Waialae Country Club. He also served on the Board of Directors at his condo. Ed leaves a legacy of hard work and love for the Lord. He enjoyed his daily Bible reading, Bible studies, and he never missed Sundays with his church ohana. Ed was a dedicated "Prayer Warrior" for everyone. He is remembered for handing out his "God Has Promised" bookmarks. He loved God, country, and everyone he knew. Ed and his loving wife were blessed with 40 precious years together. He spent his last 3 years at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Center, enjoying the time with his wife and fellow resident ohana there - he loved to laugh. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Ed is survived by his dear wife Patricia; children David, Cynthia, and Brian (Linda); 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin sister Edwina; sons Edwin Jr. (Donna) and Robert (Sandra). Private services were held on December 15, 2022 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Punchbowl with military honors for his final resting place.

A "Celebration of Ed's Life" will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Hawaii Kai Church, 265 Lunalilo Home Road. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the Service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
