Of Aiea, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2022. She was 86 years old. Selner was born in Taegu, South Korea and came to Hawaii in 1975 with her only son. She was an amazing Sister, Aunt and Mother. But just as important, she was a self-made businesswoman. After graduating from cosmetology school, in 1981 she opened Cathy Hairstyling at Waimalu Shopping Plaza in Aiea. And in 2009 was relocated to Times Square Shopping Center Waimalu as Salon C. She was also a licensed realtor with Herbert K Horita Realty. She worked Tirelessly until she retired in 2015. She is survived by her son Jeffery Selner, sister Sue Akamu and husband Russell Akamu. Other survivors include brother-in-law Andrew Gaston plus his children Anthony and Julia and their families. In addition is her beloved canine, Daisy. Services will be held on January 16th @ 10:30am, at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, located at Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu. Arrangements Provided By:
