"Aunty Bernie" 74, of Waianae, was a beautiful angel who gained her wings on December 30, 2022. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
A 1967 graduate of Waianae High School, Bernadette had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room. She was a homemaker who pursued a lot of her passions over the years. She loved painting, drawing and expressing her life through her art. She was a wonderful mother and her life's purpose was to enjoy life to the fullest and watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. She thanked the Lord abundantly for all the many blessings that she was given.
She was forever loved and will be forever missed.
She is survived by her children: Garet A. (Millie) Au, Holly B.M. (David) Hiwauli-Taito, Hayley L.L. (Aaron) Hiwauli-Raleigh, Gerald P.A. Hiwauli, Heather L.K. (Gabriel) Hiwauli-Keliiholokai, Harla C. A.M. (Clyde) Hiwauli-Seguin; 22 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Bernadette on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, Honolulu. Visitation & Service: 12:00 p.m.; Reception to follow.
