FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

CHARLES AKIRA KUBO
CHARLES AKIRA KUBO92, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, October 7, 2022. Charles was born on May 20, 1930. Growing up he and his siblings worked on the family dairy farm. It is there that Charles developed a strong work ethic.
Charles found success in the concrete industry and stayed in it for over 40 years. His career began at Ameron HC&D, and he worked his way up to managing the Ready-Mix Concrete Department. In 1979, he was promoted and became the Vice President of Operations at Pacific Concrete and Rock. There, he was responsible for all production and trucking operations. In 1985, Charles became Vice President of Concrete and Aggregate divisions at Hawaiian Cement. He retired on May 31, 1997.
Charles was known as an avid reader. He enjoyed investing in the stock market and was a dedicated runner. He often woke up at 3:30 in the morning to train and run. He believed that you could do anything you set your mind to and would say "we only use 10% of our brain power". Charles completed an impressive 5 marathons. He instilled the love of running in his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling with his family to Japan and Las Vegas.
Charles will be remembered for his exuberance, his sense of humor, his take charge personality, and his love for his family. He was disciplined and strong minded, larger than life and a samurai in his heart.
Charles is survived by his dedicated wife of 69 years, Lillian (Miyoshi), brother Sakae Kubo, daughter Stacie Beaman (Bert), son Kordell Kubo (Rayna) and his grandchildren Amanda Beaman and Noah Kubo. He will be greatly missed.

At his request, there will be no funeral service.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
