Born to parents Isami Uchida and Beatrice Uyeda (deceased) with siblings May (Kazu) Niiya, Mildred (Paul) Kawamura, Edith (Carl) Okamura (deceased), and Linda Matsumoto (deceased).
Originally from Kauai, Janice attended Waimea High School before moving to Oahu and attending Farrington High School and graduating with the class of 1964.
Also in 1964, she competed in the 12th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival and placed as Semi-Finalist.
Janice worked in the record department at Gem's department store in Kapalama, and while there met her husband Ethan who worked as an Assistant Store Manager. They got engaged and married in 1973.
She later worked at Outrigger Hotels before changing careers to work as an Accounting Clerk until her retirement.
Janice was a lively woman who loved to laugh, travel, party with family, and embraced life every chance she could.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Mililani Mortuary,
Makai Chapel on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023.
Open visitation begins at 9:30 a.m.; Service will start at 10:30 a.m.
Lunch and refreshments to follow at 12:00 p.m.
Burial to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, Immediate Family only.
