In 1965, he met Bernadette (Apao) Erwin, and they wed in 1967, going on to have three children, Scott, Kelii, and Ikaika.
Lee dedicated much of his time applying his skills to support the Hawaiian community across a variety of organizations. Most recently he sat on the board of the Mediation Center of the Pacific. He was also an active member on the boards of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Hawai'i, the Wai'alae Elementary public charter school, and the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i. He was also a member of the Mystical Rose Oratory congregation, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Lee is survived by his wife Bernadette Erwin; his three children: Scott Erwin of San Francisco, CA, Kelii Erwin of Boston, MA, and Ikaika Erwin of Honolulu, HI; his grandchildren: Jessica Erwin, Kai Erwin and Kelamailani Erwin.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023,
Mystical Rose Oratory Chapel on the Chaminade University campus,
3140 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu.
Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.; Mass: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
