NOA EMMETT AUWAE ALULI, M.D.
NOA EMMETT AUWAE ALULI, M.D.Age 78, passed away November 30, 2022 at Kaunakakai, Moloka'i. Born on O'ahu in January 1944 and raised in Kailua, he graduated from St. Louis College '62 (St. Louis High School) & Marquette University '66. Dr. Aluli taught at Damien High School & Kailua Intermediate before graduating in the first class at the University of Hawai'i Medical School '75 (John A. Burns School of Medicine, JABSOM).

Dedicated to the health and well-being of Native Hawaiians, Dr. Aluli was a family practice primary care physician at the Moloka'i Family Health Center (46 yrs), a Medical Director of Moloka'i General Hospital & an Adjunct Assistant Medical Professor at JABSOM.

Co-founder of the Protect Kaho'olawe 'Ohana that led the aloha 'aina movement to stop military use of Kaho'olawe island. Co-founder of Pele Defense Fund, protecting volcano akua, Pele, from geothermal development. He inspired generations to protect Hawaiian lands, practice Hawaiian culture and restore Hawaiian sovereignty.

Survived by life partner Davianna Pomaika'i McGregor, daughter Rosie 'Anolani Alegado (Raymond Kong), mo'opuna Justice Leihiwa and Cassius Kuamo'o Kong; brothers Ronald Chong Kee, sister Kalai Teves and brothers Hayden, Pia, & Webster Aluli, nieces, nephews, and Aluli and Cockett 'ohana. Pre-deceased by parents Noa Tong and Ku'uleimokihana Aluli and brother Noa Kekahu Aluli.

Celebrations of life will be in Ho'olehua, Moloka'i, Saturday, February 4, at 9:00 am at Lanikeha Community Center & in Kaka'ako, O'ahu on Saturday, March 4 at 9:00 am at JABSOM.
