92, passed on Dec. 8, 2022. Born in Lahaina, Maui on May 4, 1930, dad was a decorated Combat Army Veteran who served two tours in Viet Nam (1965-1969) including the Battle of Ap Nha Mat (Dec. 1969). He retired as a master sergeant in 1978 with 22 years of service. He also is a retiree of 15 yrs in civil service. Dad resisded in Killeen, TX and he loved playing bingo on Post, watching boxing events, and CNN. He is survived by son Richard R. Nunes Jr. (Kanani) and daugther Marlene Nunes (predeceased); grand- children and great-grandchildren. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan.28, 2023, 10 am-12pm at Pearl City Elks Lodge (lunch to follow).
