71, passed away on June 23, 2018 after a 10-year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born in Yonkers, New York, earned a bachelor's degree at SUNY-Buffalo, and earned his Master in Social Work at University of Hawaii-Manoa. He positively affected the lives of many populations in New York, Massachusetts, and Hawaii as a tireless and effective social worker. In Hawaii, he worked as an administrator at Halawa High Security Prison and then at both Barber's Point Naval Air Station and Naval Station Pearl Harbor. He is survived by Sheryl Shohet, daughter Heather Shohet, brother Jeffrey (Linda) Shohet, half-brother Brian (Regina) Shaw, half-sister Cathy Shaw-Kalloo, nieces Emily and Jennifer Shaw, and nephews David (Kari) and Brian Shohet. No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers' Association or to the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
