Pearl Costa Nelson passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2018, at age 95. Born July 17, 1923 in Honolulu, she spent her entire life in Hawaii until moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas, in 2016 to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She was a loyal parishioner and accountant at Saint George Catholic Church in Waimanalo, Hawaii. Pearl married her husband, Hank Nelson, in 1946 after he returned from duty in the Pacific during WWII. They raised a daughter, Sandy, and a son, Brian. Pearl is survived by her daughter Sandy Hanley and her husband, Tom, of Bella Vista; grandson Chris Delaunay and his wife Katrina, and two great-grandchildren, Finn and Coco of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and her sister, Audrey Buna, of California. Her family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff and residents at The Brookfield Assisted Living in Bella Vista.
