Apolenario "Apollo" Suan passed quietly on June 27, 2020 during a short stay at Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1929 in Wahiawa to Urbano and Gaudencia Suan. Apolenario grew up in Whitmore and graduated from Leilehua High School, class of 1948. Apollo retired as an Engineer with the Honolulu Fire Department having served 32 years. Besides serving his community, Apollo was a jack of all trades. He was a master plumber, heavy equipment operator, but most will remember him for being an avid fisher man. If you knew Apollo, you knew he loved the ocean.
In his later years, Apollo and Bernie continued to live their life to the fullest, traveling abroad on the cruise line. Their evenings were spent dancing the night away. The only thing he loved more than being on the water was dancing with his wife. What started out as dance classes, turned into a passion the two shared. Not just with each other, but with everyone around. So much so, that bands would request to have Mr. and Mrs. Suan come up to dance while they sang.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bernalda Tantog Suan; sons: Stanley (Ramona), Randy; daughters: Sharlene, Rosenda (Mitchell), Bernadine (Randy); 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 a Memorial will be held at a later date. His family would like to say Mahalo for all the love and support they've received.

But Jesus knew the answer, and I knew he loved you so.
So I gave to you life's greatest gift, the gift of letting go
The fact that you're no longer here, will always cause me pain, Forever you will remain in my heart, until we meet again
