Lynn "Popo" Ishida EstesLYNN "POPO" ISHIDA ESTES
Age 57 years, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 31, 2012. Born Lynn Kathryn Ishida in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1955, Lynn was raised in Nu'uanu by her parents Lincoln J. and Ruth H. Ishida. After attending Punahou High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Lynn worked as a restaurant server, attending to her customers most recently at Kincaid's at Ward Warehouse. She is survived by her beloved son, Jeremiah O. (Jenia) Estes; father Lincoln J. Ishida; grandmother Masae Ishida of Kealakekua; brothers Lane T. (Jo Ann) Ishida, Lyle M. Ishida and Leigh R. (Nicole) Ishida; one grandson, Jette L. Estes; three nieces Lauren M. Ishida, Elise H. Ishida and Robyn M. Ishida; one nephew, Dylan A. Ishida; and very good friend Wendy L. Ishida.
Lynn, affectionately known to her entire family as "Popo" since she was a little child, enjoyed her hobbies of travel, cooking and skiing in Oregon and Alaska, together with her lifelong obsession of reading, a passion she inherited from her mother, Ruth, also a voracious reader who preceded her to our Lord's Kingdom in 2001. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. at Nu'uanu Congregational Church, 2651 Pali Highway. A memorial service conducted by Reverend Pastor Ede Steele and Reverend Pastor Tom Fujita will commence at 6:00 p.m.
