John Melvin Kaiawe, 67, of Kaloko, Hawaii, owner of J.M.K. Equipment, died at home. He was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Earlene; daughter Leesa Ann Kam; brothers Charles and Joseph Nahale, Lyle, Lance and Tommy Lance Gomes, Francis Ng Sr., and Kenneth Sr., Thomas and Ronald Kam Sr.; sisters Eleanor and Grace Kaiawe, Debra Sasaki, Jasmine Bledsoe, Sonyamae Fukushima, Barbara Leleiwi, Thelma Macomber, Edwina Booth and Jeanette Kuwada; and two grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at Calvary Community Church, Kailua-Kona. Services: 10:30 a.m. Hawaiian attire. Lei welcome.
