DOLORES LIN DAI KAU
Dolores Lin Dai Kau passed away peacefully at Hi'olani Care Center at Kahala Nui on August 28, 2010. She was born in Honolulu on August 30, 1923, the 5th of 11 children of Annie and Abraham (Chey) Lau. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Louis K. Kau. Together, they were a wonderful team as their love for each other radiated to all who came into contact with them. She was a retired Hawaii State Corrections Officer and Emeritus Director of Aloha Festivals. Dolores loved to sing and dance to all kinds of music, especially Hawaiian Music. Dolores spent her last few years enjoying her family and traveling to the mainland to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, and helping friends and family. Always a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a devout Catholic, Dolores prayed daily for her entire family. Family and friends could always count on her prayers to help them in their time of need. She is survived by children, Virginia (Robert) Hee, Louis (Kathleen) Kau, Claire (Alvin) Ho, Catherine (Lowell) Chun-Hoon, hanai daughter Gail Martin, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 hanai grandchildren, hanai great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Edith Leong, Eleanor Park, Lorraine (Alfred) Lee, Patricia Lee; brother, Milton (Wah Lan) Lau; cousins, Sylvia Lee, Nelson Liu, Muriel Ramos; sisters-in-law, Alice Lau and Annabelle Pa; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may celebrate Dolores' life at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Catholic Mass and eulogy at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Diamond Head Memorial Park at 2:15 p.m. Aloha attire.
