Sam A. Samonte, 79, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Honolulu, a former U.S. Embassy employee in Manila and retired Navy dispensing clerk, died in Anchorage. He was born in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines. He is survived by wife Marissa; sons Sammy and Simms; daughters Malia Mateo, Florina Samonte-Yereance and Venus, Aphrodite and Princess Samonte; brothers Rick and Nilo; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 11 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Casual and aloha attire.
