ALISA ATKINSON MCKINNEYALISA ATKINSON MCKINNEY
Alisa Atkinson McKinney of Volcano, Hawaii passed away on Nov. 3 in Hilo, Hawaii. She was a historical author, a retired general manager of the Volcano Winery, a Coordinator of Educational Seminars for the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and a world traveler. Alisa graduated from Leeward Community College, had a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Hawaii/Manoa and was studying for her Masters Degree at the Abilene Christian University Graduate School in Texas. She was the Founding Vice President of the Rotary Club of Volcano and was a member of the Daughters of Hawaii.
Alisa will be laid to rest in the Makee Family Plot at Oahu Cemetery. Services are not yet scheduled. Son Dustin Vegas and daughter Lacy Vegas, both attending college in Texas, survive her. She also leaves her mother, Alana A. McKinney (the late Dr. Lynn McKinney) of Volcano, sister Laura Dee McKinney of Volcano, sister Diana L. Thomas (Michael) of Kamuela, nieces and nephews.
