Masashige Akamine 93, of Hilo, died September 26, 2016 at the Legacy Hilo Rehabilitartion & Nursing Center. He was born in Hilo. He was a retired real estate developer, co-owner of the former Hilo Food Town Supermarket, member of Hilo Meishoin Mission and Hui Okinawa. He is survived by wife Kimiko Akamine; son Howard Akamine; daughters Dayle Nishimura, Janice Akamine, and Margaret Yokoyama; brother Baldwin Akamine; and 4 grandchildren. Private services held. No flowers and no koden.
