She is survived by brother Francis "Keli'i" and sisters Emmaline K. "Emi" Kaailau, Juliet K. "Judy" Tankersley, Violet "Ululani" Lung and Mary A. "Babes" Huihui. Although she had no children of her own, she was godmother and favorite aunt to many who affectionately called her "Auntie I". Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Diamond Head Memorial Park. RICHARD CABANILLA

RICHARD CABANILLA 71, of Kaneohe, died in Kaiser Permanente Center Moanalua. He is survived by wife Lucille, sons Eric, Gary and grandson Hylen. Also survived by brothers Raoul Canario, Jr., Kevin Canario, Gregg Mendiola, sisters Kennydene Piena, Lei Ing, family and friends. Richard was born October 30, 1943 in Kahuku. He graduated from Castle High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Richard then joined the Honolulu Fire Department and served from 1969-1994, as a firefighter, engineer, and retired as a Fire Captain at Kailua Fire Station Ladder 18. Richard spent many joyous years as a soccer coach for his son and grandson and many other keikis with Kaneohe AYSO. Visitation: Saturday, August 29, 9:30 a.m., St. Ann Catholic Church, Kaneohe followed by services at 11:30 a.m. Aloha attire.
