Wilfred Toshimitsu Uekawa89, of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away on February 13, 2017 at Castle Medical Center. He was born on December 6, 1927 to Tokuzo and Ine Uekawa. He had 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Ethel, Grace, Helene, Shunitchi, Dorothy, Danny, Herbert, and Larry. He was survived by his beloved wife, Teruko "Flora" Uekawa, his 5 children, Irene Tanaka, Stephanie (Carl) Nakahara, Hope (Neil) Morinaga, John (Celia) Uekawa, and Louise Uekawa; his 9 grandchildren, Sondra (Bill) Rohac, Lana (Paul) Perhacs, Blake Nakahara, Kyle Nakahara, Gavin Morinaga, Reid Morinaga, Heather Uekawa, Hillary (Steven) Sasaki, and Mark Uekawa; and his 4 great-grandchildren, Alexa Rohac, Brennan Rohac, Paulie Perhacs, and Brady Sasaki. Willie graduated from Farrington High School in 1945. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines from 1946-47 and was drafted in 1949-51. Willie spent 41 years at United Air Lines and was one of the original 8 flight stewards that flew over the Pacific Ocean. He was truly a family man. And his passion was to watch UH sports. Private services were held.
