Peacefully passed away 24 March 2017, in Honolulu at the age of 99. He was born in Kohala, Hawaii. Herman was an account clerk at Pearl Harbor where he witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor and received the certificate of Meritorious Civilian Service award. He is survived by his wife Leatrice L. Yap, daughters Cynthia Louie, Debra Shimoda & grandchildren Polohanaole, Kuma, and Deanna. Visitation: 10am Services: 11:00 Burial: 12:30, on April 18, 2017 at Diamond Head Mortuary.
