65, of Kailua, died at home April 7, 2017. He was born in Washington, D.C. on December 12, 1951. He graduated from Punahou Academy in 1969 and was in the third graduating class of Hawaii Loa College (now HPU) in 1973. John's lifelong love of the land was reflected in his avid enthusiasm for motorcycle trials riding, and in the name of his business, Aloha Aina Lawn Sprinkler Service. He is survived by sister Paula D. Sterling (Wayne Hoolae), nephew John Lawo, nieces Caroline Lawo, Malia, Lilinoe, and Kapua Sterling (Bryson Villarosa), and his many dear friends. Services to be held at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Kailua on May 6 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
