Passed away peacefully on June 17, 2017 at the age of 99 at his home in Alewa Heights. Thomas was born on September 21, 1917 to Wong Yau and Kong Lin Kiu at Jack Lane in Honolulu. He was the eldest of five brothers and two sisters. Thomas graduated from St. Louis High School in 1934. For financial reason and family obligations he was not afforded the opportunity to attend college but pursued continuing knowledge with a burning desire thru self-study and night school. Thomas learned accounting, insurance, finance, computers, real estate investing and equities and options trading. He had a successful career as an insurance and information technology supervisor with Dole Corporation and Castle and Cook and as a finance executive with Aloha Motors and Mercedes Benz of Honolulu. Thomas is survived by his wife of 74 years Gwendolyn Matayoshi Wong, son Francis K.S. Wong, daughter- in-law Lorraine Doo Wong, grand- children Robbie and Tanya Wong, brothers Richard and Harry Wong, and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was a member of Community Church of Honolulu where services will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017. Visitation at 10 am, Services at 11 am.
