MILTON HOOLULU DESHA BEAMER, JR. “SONNY”
MILTON HOOLULU DESHA BEAMER, JR. SONNY December 23, 1925 - July 5, 2017 Sonny passed away peacefully in the loving embrace of his Ohana. He was born in Honolulu to parents Milton D. Beamer and Mildred Puaena Beamer. He attended Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawaii. In high school Sonny competed in both football and track, and at one time held the record in Hawaii for the fastest time in the 100 yard dash. Sonny served in the Army, Hawaii National Guard, and Army Reserves attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He retired from Standard Oil in 1981. Sonny most enjoyed the simple things in life, like playing golf and cards, fishing, manicuring the yard, singing with family and friends in the Beamer Ohana tradition, and a lifetime of laughter with all of his Kawela Bay friends. Sonny was predeceased by his son Milton "Brother" Beamer III. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathryn "Miki", sister Helen "Sunbeam" Kaaloehukaiopuaena, brother Edwin Mahiai, daughter Billie Kekuailohiaomanono, extended family, daughter Debra (Bob) Evnen, daughter Dana (Dan) Hubbard, son Mike (Susan) Moss, eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at Oahu Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation from 9:30 a.m.. Light refreshments. Private burial.
