Francis Wallace Among, 86 years young, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Honolulu. He was born June 25, 1931, the 6th of Henry and Mary Among's ten children. He "graduated early" from McKinley HS and was a self-taught man. Whether it was surfing, working for BWS, playing the bass, diving for squid, fixing the family cars, winning bowling league jackpots, or perfecting his beautiful golf swing, he often figured things out in his unique way. He was a loving husband, an awesome dad and an even better "Papa." Survived by Wife Arlene M. Among, Daughter Dolly (Jim) Swiger, Sons Frank Among, Pat (Rita) Among, Mike (Janine) Among, Sisters Helen Chong and Winona Choy, Brother Denis "Kuki" Among. Eight grandchildren: Shawna, Saundie, PJ, Reed, Ashley, Koa, Kahiau and Ka`eo. Three great-grandchildren: Josh, Mikey and Keeley. Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Kualoa Ranch, 49-560 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe, 96744. Visitation: 3-5pm. Service: 5-6pm. Celebration of Life: 6-9pm.
