FAIASO CECILIA DALE TITI HANNEMANN

FAIASO CECILIA DALE TITI HANNEMANN
Faiaso Cecilia Dale Titi Hannemann passed away peacefully on June 2, 2013 at Pali Momi Medical Center at the age of 72. Titi, as she was known to her family and friends, was the eldest daughter of the late Gustav and Faiaso Soliai Hannemann. She was born in Fasito’o, Western Samoa on November 29, 1940. When her family emigrated to Hawaii in 1953, Titi attended public schools and was a proud ’59 graduate of Farrington High School. Because she was determined to help her parents and her family, she sought employment right out of high school and worked throughout her adult life, developing a reputation for being a tireless and dedicated worker, like her father. She grew up in an LDS household and faithfully served in many callings and positions in her church. Family and honoring one’s parents were of paramount importance to Titi. Her favorite Biblical scripture was,” Honor thy father and thy mother…” (Exodus 20: 12) In fact, she dutifully took care of her dad for several years after her mother passed away in 1973. She inherited her mom’s talent as an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed making her loved ones happy with her culinary skills. She also had a deep affinity for her Samoan culture as she was extremely well versed in the customs and traditions of the Fa’a Samoa, which pleased her parents and her maternal grandfather, the late Paramount Chief Pinemua Muliufi Soliai. At many functions, Titi would be asked to perform a beautiful siva that was always a big hit with the audience. The loves of her life were her daughter Ata and her granddaughter Titinia Billie. She was totally consumed with their welfare and well-being and had high hopes for them. Titi was also an active and passionate supporter of her siblings and her nieces and nephews’ activities. Known as the “rock” of her family, Titi could always be counted on to be there to cheer them on at a sporting event, church or cultural activity, school or community function and political campaigns. Her physical challenges did not prevent her from contributing to these special and precious moments. And if you were lucky, she would show up with her popular homemade delicacies that would make everyone happy. Bringing love, joy and support to our lives is what we will miss about her. Manui’a Lou Malaga Titi! Funeral services are set for Tuesday, June 11 at Honolulu Hawaii West Stake Center at 1723 Beckley St in Kalihi. Viewing is at 8:30 am with the service to follow at 10 am. Burial will take place at Laie Cemetery at 2:30 pm where she will be laid to rest next to her father Gustav.”
